Derby Daily Express, 15th June 1916 Frank Disney resided at 252, Stockbrook Street, Derby, with his wife and one child, and he was employed at Messrs. Bemrose and Sons. He enlisted in Whit week, 1915, and was sent out to France at the beginning of March, 1916. He was killed in action aged 23, and his Platoon Sergeant wrote 'He was a dutiful soldier, and was well liked by all...All his comrades in C Company mourn his loss and deeply deplore his sad and untimely end.'
